I borrowed the headline from a phrase by Mark the Man of Tin in the comment-section in my previous blogpost. I didn't have to wait long before an opportunity to take my recently made Kübelwagen and Pak 36 out for their first ride on the rails arose. Shortly after I published the blogpost my friend and fellow mrc member Heine invited to another running day in his garden. The weather are more unpredictable during autumn and the notices for upcoming events are short, depending on the forecast. This day was sunny and not too cold and it was perfect weather conditions for a day out.
Here is a video from our Garden Running Day:
I don't know when we'll be able to arrange another Garden Running Day next time, as there are some 'train shows' coming up the following weeks. Besides the forecast is predicting more rain.
This weekend our model railway club will show some of our layouts, 3D-models and garden trains on the largest Model Railway Exhibition in Southeast Norway this year. If you are in Mysen this weekend, please stop by for a chat.

A grand day out indeed. The trolley is an excellent, practical idea.

Thank you Alan. His trolley is coincidentally about the same length as his long coaches. My rolling stock is mostly shorter so I move them to and from in foldable storage boxes. I consider to get a "2 wheeler" to easily bring more boxes at a time.
DeleteArtig å se, gøy med Thomas toget
ReplyDeleteTakk Nils.
DeleteRoger,
ReplyDeleteI love the bicycle strapped to the loco of your military train!
All the best,
Bob
Thank you Bob. The very first time I noticed a bicycle on a loco was on a OO9 model by Jack Trollope. Then I started noticing that this was often the practice on the real railway as well. Not that's it any comparison but my father used to bring a bicycle on the ships where he worked as an engineer. The terminals where they docked was usually large and very remote.
DeleteMore lovely pictures Roger. Great to see a young enthusiast joining the hobby!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Maudlin Jack. Modelling hobbies meets a lots of competition these days, so let's hope we manage to bring something on to the next generation.
