For a Few Dollars More - Deleted scenes

When first playing the scenarios from the movie "For a Few Dollars More" and letting the results create the final storyboard, there was unfortunately some footage and scenes which was removed from the "Storyboarder's Cut" version. I regret that so much as there was scenarios from the movie I wanted to play to see how they turned out. Therefore I I played those scenes added the Deleted scenes:

On the way to rob the bank in Santa Cruz

As a diversion maneuver Indio sends 3 gang members and Manco to rob the bank i Santa Cruz, while Indio and the rest of his gang robs the bank in El Paso. Manco has no intention robbing the bank in Santa Cruz...

...and fans 3 shots rapidly on the outlaws...

...and are only hitting 2 of them. The third shoots back at Manco...

...and Misses (!)
Manco does not, and this was a success for Manco even being shot back at.

Wild challenges Mortimer to a duel

When Wild - The Hunchback recognizes Colonel Mortimer in the cantina, he seeks revenge for being insulted by Mortimer in El Paso earlier and challenges him to a duel...

-He shouldn't have. Facing the best shot in the Carolinas, The Hunchback is chanceless.
Another success for Mortimer.

The Final Duel

Mortimer eventually faces Indio in a final duel. Mortimer has lost his gun on the ground and Indio think he has the upper hand in this duel. -Until Manco arrives and add to the favor for Mortimer by lending him his gun:

And Mortimer draw and shoot slightly faster than Indio (needed a re-roll) and guns him down.

The deleted scenes played in these scenarios turned out more the way they did in Sergio Leone's final version of this movie, and our heroes probably lived happily ever after....
Unless Manco accepts Mortimer's invitation to a partnership 'next time'....
-Time will show.

  1. Hello Roger, Linking a Wargame to a classic movie, and characters appearing in the film, adds so much to a scenario. I chose the 1952 Prisoner of Zenda, but I am also planning to recreate The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). Best wishes from England.

    1. Thank you for reading and commenting, Michael!
Do you plan to play them chronologically scene-by-scene so see how far in the plot it takes you?
I wasn't familiar with those movies, but after some googleing I think I'll have to take a closer look at them.

    2. Roger, both films have great and interesting characters, and both films show interesting military units. But neither of them are war films. So I will seek to represent the characters in wargame scenarios of my own imagination, while respecting the periods they are set in. The PofZ is 1850-1900, and has everything appropriate for a civil war. And have already played my first game. While the GBH is 1920-1940, and mentions a fictional war, a civil war, and later invasion by Soviet forces. Looking forward to using the collection, which is fairly complete. (Thanks for the kind comment on the restored jeep!) Michael

    3. It will be interesting to follow your blog on the GBH updates when that time comes.

Your Jeep-conversion os a master piece!!
I've converted toycars into unarmoured armed vehicles a while ago. It's interesting to bring a highly mobile machineguninto any wargame scenario.

    4. Hi Roger, just had a view of your link. Splendid work. We have taken the very same path converting modern toys into 'Technicals'. My blog sidebar has 'labels' including one for 'East African Forces'. I'm rather pleased how my yellow Technical turned out. Have also used it in a Wargame.

    5. Thank you very much for your tip! I've checked out not only the 'East African Forces' tag, but also your 'Israeli' tag. Very interesting indeed. I served as a MP and have also made some MP miniatures. Last photo in this post:

I plan to deploy them in a small wargame soon.

I really like the way you have made insurgents!! Such conversions would go well with my UN troops.
It seem like it's more than 'a technical' we have in common.
