My Garden Railway is perhaps the 'smallest large-scale' garden railway in Norway. Usually by this time of year it get prepared and ready for the season, but not this year. It's been operative since 2016, but now it's reached the 'end of the line', and it's time to shut it down...

Due to required drainage work around our house, digging to change the old drainage-pipes are needed. Some of those pipes are unfortunately located in the ground below the garden railway, so it's going for a closure and the rails needs to be lifted.
It provided great fun and good times for the whole family through it's years in service. Here is a throwback:

It has served you well , as the photos show. Hopefully the new one , when built, will bring as much, if not, more joy.

Thank you Alan! I'm looking forward to eventually start another layout in the garden. Luckily in my MRC there are several other members having garden railways which they invites to running sessions.
DeleteI'm also looking forward to see what your piece of track and station-building will bring in the future.
Those Vietnam War (?) era figures look very cool. Who made them?
ReplyDeleteI always find I lose patience trying to keep trains on the tracks but that is a nice layout.
They comes in a bucket of 24 figures, and are Labelled 'WellPackBox' and I found them on Amazon. Some of them can pass for 'Vetnap-period' but I guss they are even more modern than that considering the kevlar helmet. They're almost 12cm tall and were actually my first blogpost here:

Oh, I see from the helmets that they are somewhat later than Vietnam.
